हिंदूजा अस्पताल के डॉक्टर जलील पालकर ने उनके निधन की पुष्टि की उन्होंने बुधवार की सुबह साढ़े सात बजे अंतिम सांस ली। दिलीप कुमार का अंतिम संस्कार आज मुंबई के सांताक्रूज कब्रिस्तान में किया जाएगा।
दिलीप कुमार पिछले काफी समय से बीमार चल रहे थे। उन्हें हाल में हॉस्पिटल में भी भर्ती कराया गया था। दिलीप कुमार को सांस लेने में तकलीफ हो रही थी। दिलीप कुमार की पत्नी सायरा बानो ने एक दिन पहले बताया था कि उनकी सेहत में सुधार हो रहा है लेकिन आज सुबह उनका निधन हो गया।
दिलीप कुमार का असली नाम मोहम्मद यूसुफ खान था और उनका जन्म अविभाजित भारत के पेशावर में 11 दिसंबर 1922 को हुआ था। उन्होंने साल 1944 में फिल्म ‘ज्वार भाटा’ से बॉलिवुड डेब्यू किया था। इसके बाद दिलीप कुमार बॉलिवुड के पहले सुपरस्टार बने और उन्होंने एक से बढ़कर एक फिल्में दीं।
