मुंबई. महाराष्ट्र के राज्य उपभोक्ता आयोग ने नवी मुंबई के एक सरकारी अस्पताल और चेम्बूर स्थित एक अस्पताल को एक महिला को 15 लाख रुपये मुआवजा देने का निर्देश दिया है जिसके पति की चिकित्सीय लापरवाही के कारण नौ साल पहले मौत हो गई थी।
महाराष्ट्र राज्य उपभोक्ता विवाद निवारण आयोग ने हाल के एक आदेश में कहा कि जहां एक अस्पताल उसके पति की बीमारी का पता नहीं लगा सका वहीं दूसरा उसे पर्याप्त उपचार मुहैया नहीं करा सका। मृतक की पत्नी स्वाति ने आरोप लगाया था कि मृतक दत्ता शेरखने (40) बीपीसीएल का एक कर्मचारी था और नवी मुंबई नगर निगम अस्पताल ने 2010 में उसका मायोकार्डिटिस (हृदय रोग) की बजाय मलेरिया का इलाज किया था।

बाद में वह अपने पति को लेकर चेम्बूर स्थित सुश्रुत अस्पताल गई। महिला का आरोप है कि वहां उसके पति के इलाज में देरी हुई जिसके कारण उनकी मौत हो गई। महिला 2011 में अपने पति के इलाज में ‘चिकित्सा लापरवाही’ के संबंध में मुआवजा मांगने के लिए महाराष्ट्र राज्य उपभोक्ता विवाद निवारण आयोग पहुंची थी।
