उत्तराखण्ड में पिछले कुछ दिनों से धीमी पड़ी बारिश ने पिछले 24 घंटों से एक बार फिर रफ्तार पकड़ी है। मौसम विभाग के अनुमान के मुताबिक 19 अगस्त रात से ही प्रदेशभर के कई हिस्सों में बारिश देखने को मिल रही है। आज प्रदेश भर के कई हिस्सों मध्यम से तेज बारिश देखने को मिल रही है, मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक पिछले 24 घंटो से प्रदेश में एक्टिव मानसून रहा है, एक्टिव मानसून का मतलब है कि नार्मल बारिश से डेढ़ गुना से 4 गुना तक बारिश होना। औऱ पिछले 24 घंटे में नार्मल बारिश से डेढ़ गुना अधिक बारिश देखने को मिली है।
देहरादून मौसम विज्ञान केन्द्र के निदेशक विक्रम सिंह ने बताया कि प्रदेश में अगले 5-7 दिन अच्छी बारिश देखने को मिलेगी। 20 अगस्त से 25 अगस्त तक मध्यम से तेज बारिश देखने को मिल सकती है तो वहीं हल्की से मध्यम बारिश का दौर पूरे सप्ताह भर जारी रह सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि अगले 24 से 48 घंटे में पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में भूस्खलन जैसी घटनाएं भी सामने आ सकती है, इसलिए पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों का रूख करने वाले लोगों को सतर्क रहने की जरूरत है। लगातार बारिश के कारण नदी, नालों, गाड़-गधेरों का जलस्तर भी बढ़ेगा इसलिए नदी-नालों के किनारे रहने वालों को भी अतिरिक्त सतर्कता बरतने की सलाह दी जाती है। 21 अगस्त को भी प्रदेश में कई स्थानों पर तेज बारिश देखने को मिल सकती हैं, हालांकि 22 अगस्त को इसमें थोड़ी कमी देखने को मिलेगी।
