वर्तमान में लगातार बढ़ते साइबर अपराध व निरंतर बदल रहे साइबर अपराध के तरीकों का फायदा उठाकर साइबर अपराधी पूरे प्रदेश ही नहीं विदेशी नागरिकों से भी कॉल सेंटर के माध्यम से फर्जीवाड़ा कर धोखाधड़ी को अंजाम दे रहे हैं। ऐसे ही एक और फर्जी कॉल सेंटर का खुलासा उत्तराखंड एसटीएफ द्वारा किया गया। यह फर्जी कॉल सेंटर देहरादून जनपद के पटेल नगर थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत चल रहा था।
पुलिस उपमहानिरीक्षक अपराध एवं कानून व्यवस्था एसटीएफ ने बताया कि एसटीएफ टीम को पिछले कुछ समय से देहरादून के पटेलनगर क्षेत्र अंतर्गत फर्जी कॉल सेंटर के संचालन संबंधी सूचना प्राप्त हो रही थी जिसमें कार्य करने वाले लोगों के द्वारा अमेरिकी नागरिकों को उनके कम्प्यूटर/लैपटॉप सिस्टम के सर्विस आदि के नाम पर कॉल कर ठगी करने संबंधी कार्य किए जा रहे थे। उपरोक्त सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस उपाधीक्षक एसटीएफ के नेतृत्व में एक टीम का गठन किया गया हुआ देर रात एसटीएफ के द्वारा पटेल नगर थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत गुरु राम राय पीजी कॉलेज के पास एक फ्लैट में फर्जी अंतरराष्ट्रीय कॉल सेंटर पर दबिश दी जिसमें मौके पर दो व्यक्ति मौजूद थे जिनसे पूछताछ की गई तो उनके द्वारा बताया गया कि वह लोग डेस्कटॉप और लैपटॉप से अमेरिकी नागरिकों को विभिन्न सॉफ्टवेयर के माध्यम से फर्जी कस्टमर केयर अधिकारी बनकर उन्हें उनके सिस्टम पर तकनीकी खराबी को ठीक करने का झांसा देकर उनसे इस सर्विस के नाम पर पैंसे लेकर ठगी करते हैं।
इस कार्य हेतु उनके द्वारा 02 टॉल फ्री नंबर क्रय किए गये हैं, जो उनके लैपटॉप व कम्प्यूटर पर मौजूद सॉफ्टवेयर से कनेक्टेड है, जब कोई अमेरिकी नागरिक अपने देश में सिस्टम/डिवाइस के रिपेयर हेतु गूगल पर कस्टमर केयर नंबर तलाश करेगा तो उनका ही नंबर मिलेगा, जिस पर उसके द्वारा कॉल करने पर हम लोग उन्हें संबंधित कंपनी का कस्टमर केयर अधिकारी बनकर बात करते हैं तथा झांसा देकर उनसे डिवाइस में Remote access software install करवाकर उनके सिस्टम में काफी खराबी होना तथा उनके डिवाइस को ठीक करने के नाम पर 100 डॉलर या 900 डॉलर प्राप्त करते हैं।
उपरोक्त घटना के संबंध में थाना पटेलनगर में धारा 420,120बी भादवि व 66डी,75 आईटी एक्ट का अभियोग पंजीकृत किया गया है। उपरोक्त घटना में वैभव गुप्ता पुत्र अशोक कुमार गुप्ता निवासी ई-10, क्वीन्स अपार्टमेंट निकट आईएसबीटी थाना पटेलनगर देहरादून व सूद खान पुत्र मोहम्मद इकबाल निवासी मूलचन्द इन्क्लेव निकट निहाल रेजीडेन्सी थाना पटेलनगर देहरादून को गिरफ्तार किया है। अभियुक्तों के पास से 01 लैपटॉप, 01 कम्प्यूटर मय मॉनिटर, 03 हैडफोन, 01वायरलैस राउटर, अपराध से संबंधित अन्य दस्तावेज व 3 पेन ड्राइव बरामद की गई हैं।
